Today we honor a good man, a good human being, a good American.
An American who made his voice heard over the hatefull, fearfull bigoted rhetoric of the times.
A man who made his voice heard, not in a demand to have his way regardless of harm it migh bring others. But, rather to bring equality, justice and dignity to others though it would mean the loss of his own life.
The United Nations declared 2011 the International Year of People of African Descent, and the Public Affairs Section at Embassy Bogotá is already celebrating... check here
