Dear Friends,

Happy New Year from Change Oklahoma! This year will bring many important changes for our organization. While there are challenges and work to be done, the changes are going to make the New Year a very exciting time for our Community. For one, we will be opening Change Oklahoma's Headquarters in Oklahoma City. Having our own headquarters will allow us to have a space to organize and a means of maintaining some continuity. It's a great looking place near the Capitol and right in the heart of the city; 2517 N. Western. Be watching for official details on Change Oklahoma's Grand Opening in April.

Change Oklahoma has incorporated. Many of you have asked to contribute in the past; to have an opportunity to be even more invested in Change Oklahoma. We hope that the ability to take small contributions, will allow us to do more than ever, and as you know, there is a lot of work to be done.

One of our first projects of the New Year will be the design of a Billboard (maybe more) in Oklahoma City. We have already reached out to many of the activists here in the state for ideas. If you read the minutes on our webpage www.changeoklahoma.com from the Progressive Roundtable held in November, you'll see many of the great ideas submitted, and how we plan to make one or two of them happen. We will need the support of the entire progressive community. We would appreciate your participation in the design and message of the board; you can contribute your suggestions on the Change website. We hope that you'll be excited to be a part of this important effort.

Change Oklahoma will also be launching a separate website devoted to loving our Great State. This is still in the development phase, but rest assured, we are working diligently on a centralized place where anybody can go and make a quick and easy contribution to moving our State forward, such as -registering themselves or a friend to vote.

Building our voter base is crucial to winning elections. In late December, Change Oklahoma met with several leaders from the Hispanic Community in order to organize a targeted voter registration drive in the Hispanic Community. This large-scale effort will require the volunteer efforts of all Oklahoma Activists concerned in building a larger Progressive voting base. So, be watching for updates on this very important Registration Drive. Join us in the planning strategy and look for sign up opportunities soon!

Whew. Seems like we have quite a bit on our plate this coming year, but it is the work we must all do. We hope you are as excited as we are, and will feel compelled to help Change Oklahoma!

Wishing you the best year ever!

Best Regards,

Susan McCann and Miguel Medrano
